Peer Navigator & Resident Assistant Application
Peer Navigator Responsibilities
- Lead engaging campus tours for incoming and prospective students, providing valuable information about the college, programs, and college life.
- Organize and execute a variety of social events for first-year students, including Weeks of Welcome activities, Thursday Night events, and recreational activities throughout the week.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation events in August and January. Some evening and weekend events may be required.
- Participate in signature Admissions events such as Open House and Admitted Student Day, ensuring prospective students and their families have an informative and welcoming experience.
- Participate in the Peer Navigator Training Program, held from Monday, July 28, 2025, to Friday, August 8, 2025. The training schedule will be provided closer to the date.
- Lead campus tours every Tuesday from 10 AM to 12 PM and Friday from 1 PM to 3 PM during the semester. Peer Navigators are encouraged to adjust their class schedules to accommodate these tours.
- Support the Trib411 Information Booth by responding to student inquiries in person, via phone, email, and text. Provide exceptional customer service to students and guests.
- Maintain Professionalism: As a Peer Navigator, represent Monroe Community College with professionalism at all times. You may be the first point of contact for visitors, so it is essential to create a positive first impression.
- Attend weekly Peer Navigator Staff Meetings every Monday at 4 PM to discuss upcoming events and receive updates on responsibilities.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Resident Assistant (RA) Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model and student resource.
- Promote a community learning environment through educational/social programs.
- Responsible for changing content of bulletin boards monthly.
- Respond to student concerns and make appropriate student referrals to campus partners.
- Hold at least two programs each month of the semester.
- Help to ensure the health and safety of student residents.
- Assist in administrative responsibilities which could include room condition reports, incident reports, move in/move out, suite inspections, office coverage and duty reports.
- Participate in residence hall duty rotation for night, day and weekend coverage.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and weekly individual supervision meetings.
- Participate in Residence Hall Orientation at the start of the semester.
- Communicate and consistently enforce residence hall polices, regulations and the College Code of Conduct
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- At least one completed semester of course work at Monroe Community College by time of hire.
- An earned G.P.A. of at least 2.5.
- Good standing with student conduct.
- Matriculated at MCC and registered full time.
- Academic course load limited to between 12 and 18 credit hours each semester.
- Additional employment must be approved by supervisor; Peer Navigator/RA position is highest priority.
- Peer Navigators/ RAs involved in other on-campus leadership roles must obtain permission from their supervisor.
Pay and Benefits
Remuneration for these positions is in the form of a $800 semester stipend (distributed in bi-weekly checks) and through a full, single room waiver ($4,200 value per semester). Peer Navigators/RAs also receive valuable training and leadership experience to carry without through professional career.
12-Month RAs: Resident Assistants in 12-Month housing receive a larger room waiver as part of living in our 12-Month Housing building. Because of this, 12-Month RAs may be asked to be present for additional duty shifts and assignments during break periods until the end of the 12-Month license period. The 12-Month RA position is great for students already in 12-Month Housing, or are looking to join 12-Month Housing for the 25-26 academic year.
Non-Housing Peer Navigator Stipend: Peer Navigators who do not reside in the Residence Halls will receive a larger semi-monthly cash stipend as compensation.

Step 4: Attend Group Interview
All applicants must attend the Group Interview on Friday, April 04, 2025, from 2pm to 6pm.
